There’s a lot going on in any given week in Dartmouth. Here are some events to check out.

Thursday, June 1

Learn about environmental education centers

A session is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Thursday, June 1 at the Dartmouth Cultural Center, 404 Elm St. to discuss the importance of environmental education centers and their programs’ impact. After the talk, all those attending will participate in a science investigation activity designed to simulate a technology-integrated physical model representing Eastern Box Turtle and Piping Plovers’ natural habitat. The event is free. 

Friday, June 2

Search for bobolinks

Join Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust Land Manager Linda Vanderveer at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2 for a stroll through Ocean View Farm, 28 Allens Neck Road, searching for bobolinks. Bobolinks are small, migratory songbirds with a yellow head and conspicuous call. No dogs are allowed on this walk.

Saturday, June 3

Take a wild edibles walk

Curious about foraging but not sure what you can and can’t eat? Join Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust Land Steward Leah McFarland and Development and Outreach Specialist Kendra Parker on a walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3 at Slocum River Reserve, 320 Horseneck Road. They will point out a variety of edible plants. Price is $10. For more information, visit dnrt.org.

Monday, June 5

Meet the library director

Meet new Dartmouth Library Director Dina St. Pierre from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 5 at the Suzanne McDonald Community Room at the North Branch Library, 211 Cross Road. Light refreshments will be served.

Meet the library director

Meet new Dartmouth Library Director Dina St. Pierre from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, June 9 at Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth St. Light refreshments will be served.
