UMass Dartmouth announced this week that one of the university’s employees has tested positive for Covid-19.

A statement on the university’s website published on Wednesday notes that on April 3, the employee notified the college that they tested positive for the virus and are currently at home in isolation.

According to the statement, contact tracing will be done by the local board of health and anyone who needs to self-quarantine and self-monitor for signs and symptoms of Covid-19 will be notified.

The employee reported that they had not visited any UMass Dartmouth location in the two weeks prior to April 3.

UMass Dartmouth spokesman Ryan Merrill stated that almost all UMass Dartmouth staff have been working from home during the pandemic.
