The Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District is hosting several upcoming waste disposal days.

On Saturday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, tires can be recycled at the Shawmut Ave Transfer Station, 1103 Shawmut Ave in New Bedford by Dartmouth and New Bedford residents with ID only. There are fees based on the type of tire to be recycled.

On Saturday, September 29 from 9 a.m. to noon, there will be free paper shredding in the parking lot across from City Hall in New Bedford at the corner of William St. and N. 6th St. There is a limit of two boxes per person.

On Saturday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to noon, there will be a household hazardous waste collection day at the Crapo Hill Landfill at 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd in New Bedford. ID with proof of Dartmouth, New Bedford, or Freetown residency is required.
