A 31-year-old Millis man was killed in an early-morning accident on Barney's Joy Road on Sunday, November 26.

The man, identified by police as Edward Bowles, was a passenger in Volkswagen Jetta driven by Jay Patel, 22, of New Paltz, New York.

Patel's vehicle was the only one involved in the crash, which occurred around 4:35 a.m. Both men were taken to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, where Bowels died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash, police said.

Additional information was not immediately available. The crash remains under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit, the Dartmouth Police Detective Division, and State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's office.
