Dartmouth man arrested for home, car break-ins

A Dartmouth man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a house and car in his own neighborhood on February 1.

According to police, officers responded to 8 Howard Street after a homeowner reported a man inside the home attempting to steal copper pipes.

When officers arrived, they saw a man fleeing the house. After a foot chase, officers arrested 39-year-old Erik Paul Silvia, who lives just a few doors down on the same street.

During the investigation, officers also determined Silva allegedly broke into a vehicle on neighboring Oliver Street.

Silva faces charges of felony breaking and entering into a residence, felony breaking and entering into a vehicle, and vandalism.
