Irene C. Barcellos (Costa), 97, passed away on February 3, 2018 at Royal Taber Street Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Lawrence C. Barcellos to whom she was married for over 58 years before his passing in 2013.

Born in Dartmouth, MA, a daughter of the late John and Jacintha Costa, she was a lifelong resident of South Dartmouth.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shirley Cogswell of California and Nancy Zych of Washington state; two sons, Eugene Medeiros and his wife Debbie of Lakeville and Ralph Medeiros of South Dartmouth; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Wilhemina Barcellos, Hilda de Mello, Mary Arruda and Elvira DeCosta.

A private committal service will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
