Maria Rosa Julio, 76, of Dartmouth, passed away on February 19, 2018 at home. She was the wife of Francisco A. Julio with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Pragosa, Porto de Mos, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Maria da Silva (Cunha) Carvalhana and step-daughter of the late Emilia Carvalhana.

She came to the United States in the early 1960's and had resided in Dartmouth for the past 40 years. She had worked as a stitcher at Justin Clothing until her retirement.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking and exercising with friends. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and dear friends, all of whom she adored.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Nelson Julio of New Bedford; two daughters, Elizabeth Beato and husband Joseph of Cortlandt Manor, NY and Cynthia Vieira and husband Henrique of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Nicholas Beato, Christopher Beato and Johnathan Vieira; two sisters, Ines Ferreira and husband Augusto and Madalena Julio and husband Adriano; a brother, Jaime Carvalhana; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
