Bishop Stang names new softball coach
Bishop Stang High School will have a new softball coach at the helm, as Nneka Pawlowski has been hired for the position.
She is a 2001 graduate of Brockton High School, where she was named to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team. Her high school career led her to a path to the NCAA Div. 1 softball program at the University of Maryland, where she played from 2001 to 2005.
Since the conclusion of her days playing softball, she’s held a number of coaching positions. Most recently, she coached softball and volleyball for Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton, MA, and she has assisted her former high school coach in the softball program at Wellesley High School.
“I am honored and overwhelmingly excited for the opportunity to coach at Bishop Stang,” Pawlowski said. “My hope is to share my experiences as a player, and to help mold well-rounded student-athletes.”
Pawlowski is no stranger to the region. She’s worked since 2012 at the Massachusetts Department of Corrections as a correctional officer, and received a community service award in 2012.
“We are excited to have Nneka Pawlowski join our Bishop Stang community,” said Bishop Stang Athletic Director Dennis Golden. “We believe that she will bring a great deal of softball knowledge and enthusiasm to the young people in our program.”
