A turtle derby will be hosted by The Dartmouth Lions Club on May 20 in the Dartmouth Middle School gym.

Children 12 and under are encouraged to become jockeys for the event. Electronic turtles will be used for the race.

Those looking to participate must pre-register. It is a $10 fee and people can email DartmouthLions@comcast.net for an application. Tickets for spectators are $5. Sign-in starts at 11 a.m., with the races beginning at noon. All of the proceeds benefit the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research and Lions Community Projects.

Dartmouth Middle School is located at 366 Slocum Road.
