A 21-year-old student is in the hospital after being involved in a car crash on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth campus on May 4, according to university officials.

The crash occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on the access road behind the campus's freshman dorms.

Responding officers determined a car driven by a commuter student had collided with a tree and then rolled over. The commuter student, the only person in the car, was found conscious at the scene.
