The New Bedford Yacht Club will be hosting its 24th annual Junior Regatta on July 7 and 8.

This year 420, Optimist, Laser Radial, and O’pen Bic sailors will also be allowed to participate in the races, which have seen 170 boats and 250 sailors in the past years. The racing area will be the Padanaram outer harbor and approximately one-fourth mile south of Apponagansett Bay.

Races begin after a 9 a.m skippers' meeting.

Registration is now open and must be submitted no later than July 1 at 2 p.m. and can be completed online. It costs $85 per sailor and a $20 late fee will be applied to anyone who registers late.
