Road reconstructions announced

The Dartmouth Department of Public Works will be reconstructing portions of Russells Mills Road, Slocum Road, Hathaway Road, and areas of Bliss Corner from October 15 through November 8.

The work will be done from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Reconstruction will take place on Russells Mills Road from Howland Street to Rogers Street; on Slocum Road from State Road to Hathaway Road; and on Hathaway Road from State Road to the city line.

It will also take place in Bliss Corner on Hemlock Street (Bliss St. to Osborne St.), Frank Street (Dead End to Hemlock St.), Avon Street (Intersection of Frank St.), Richard Street (Dartmouth St. to city line), Osborne Street (Dead End to Hemlock St.), and Norwell Street (Dartmouth St. to city line). 

During the reconstruction, portions of the roads will be open only to emergency vehicles, school buses, and homeowners, and local detours will be posted as needed.

DPW advises that no parking will be permitted in these areas.
