Santa Claus and a tree lighting at annual holiday celebration
Dec 1, 2019
An early December snow storm was not enough to put a damper on the annual Dartmouth tree lighting.
The December 1 event, hosted by Dartmouth Parks and Recreation, saw the large tree in front of Town Hall come alive with light and color, as kids and families gathered to witness the first lighting of the Christmas tree.
“We had a better turnout than we expected,” said Dartmouth Parks and Recreation coordinator Becky Amaral. “At least it was snow and not rain — it’s more festive.”
Before the tree lighting, indoor activities including coloring and arts and crafts, giveaways, and even a visit with Santa Claus himself took place indoors at Dartmouth Middle School.
