Students shine at SkillsUSA Conference
Six students from Dartmouth received medals at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference on April 27.
The SkillsUSA state leadership and skills conference is a competition that celebrates vocational and technical talents.
Students competed with the Greater New Bedford Regional technical school chapter which was also recognized as one of 24 Nationwide chapters earning the models of excellence award.
Michael Silva was a gold medalist in cabinetmaking. Jacob Reimels was also a gold medalist in marine service technology.
The silver medalists were Braden Duarte for marine service technology and Kylie Gagne for outstanding chapter, which recognizes leadership skills.
There were three bronze medalists: Elizabeth Santos for diesel equipment technology; Ayva Gouveia-Furtado for sticker design; and Jackson Simmons for engineering technology
