Updated: Baseball continues Dartmouth’s success in post-season competition
Baseball is Dartmouth High School’s only team remaining in post-season competition, according to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
At the Monday, June 3 School Committee meeting, Dartmouth High School team captains came to celebrate their accomplishments this school year.
Ross Thibeault, director of Teaching and Learning Secondary, who was filling in for Athletic Director Andrew Crisafulli, highlighted the newly established Captains Advisory Council, which met throughout the school year focusing on topics such as leadership and their “unique” roles serving as captain. A number of leaders met with the council as well.
He added the captains should take “a tremendous sense of pride” in knowing all of Dartmouth High School’s athletic teams qualified for post-season play at the state level this year.
“Being captain isn’t about being the most athletically gifted individual — though certainly all of our captains here tonight are certainly gifted in their respective sports,” Thibeault said. “These student athletes who we seek to recognize tonight are respected by their peers for their work ethic, for their commitment to excellence and for their willingness to take on additional responsibility to ensure that their teams were successful.”
