Lisa A. Grace, 68
Apr 4, 2025
Lisa A. Grace, 68, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Barbara Whitehead Silva, and mother of Matthew R. Grace.
Lisa grew up in Mattapoisett and Clark's Cove in Dartmouth, spending the majority of her life in Dartmouth. She loved her big yellow house and farmers porch, and in general the town and its surrounding South Coast communities. Raised Catholic, she graduated from Bishop Stang High School. Lisa was a lifelong lover of animals and rider of horses from a young age. When she wasn't with her dogs (there were always two in the family) she was either reading or spending quality time with her horse Sammy at the barn.
Lisa briefly pursued studies in veterinary science, but ultimately went into the banking business: she spent over 25 years growing First Citizens Federal Credit Union alongside her mother, Barbara. Lisa was an autodidact that learned on the job and humbly ran and scaled operations; implementing new technologies, regulations, and products at the bank.
Lisa was sweet, honest, and direct - a loyal friend, colleague, mother, and daughter. She will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and sense of humor.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 9am at St. Lawrence Church, 565 County St., New Bedford, with everyone invited to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made in her name to the Humane Society & Shelter SouthCoast (https://hsssc.org/). Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals. For an online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
