To the Editor:

I would like to commend Town Meeting, and all that participated in the meeting. Perhaps, what pleased me most about the Spring 2025 Town Meeting was the stark contrast of our debate locally versus the dumpster fire of our national political discourse.

We debated, discussed, and exchanged ideas on some difficult and important topics. But this debate was carried out with respect and civility. I firmly believe that we will produce better outcomes for the community at large through respectful dialogue and debate, and the humility to acknowledge that dialogue can and should inform and shape our opinions and actions.

So again, thank you to Town Meeting for demonstrating that our democracy is alive and well, and how it can and should work.
