Eleanor in the limelight

Cue a story about history and the fictional life of Eleanor Roosevelt with the one-woman performance titled “An Hour with Eleanor.”

The performance will take place on Thursday, July 17 at the Cultural Center on 404 Elm Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $10, and the donation goes to support the Cultural Center.

Friday, July 18

Turnip the beat

The Dartmouth Farmers & Artisan Market is open every Friday until Oct. 24.

Fresh fruits and vegetables along with handmade crafts may be on the horizon for those who stop by between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Shoppers can find the market at 789 Dartmouth Street, alongside St. Mary’s Church in South Dartmouth.

Something to sale-abrate

Score some new finds at the Dartmouth Historical & Arts Society’s Yard Sale.

The sale will be on Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Russell Mills Schoolhouse on 1205 Russells Mills Road. Members and friends of the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will be hosting this yard sale.

Antiques, books, clothes, dolls, frames, small furniture, games, household items, paintings, tools, vases and much more will be sold.

Fifteen 10 foot by 10 foot table spaces are available for a donation ($10 minimum) on a first come first serve basis. Participants are asked to bring their own tables.

A magical invitation

Wands at the ready. Jungle Jim’s Wizard Academy Training will be making a stop in Dartmouth for a spellbinding experience inspired by the world of Harry Potter.

Best for ages 3 to 12, this interactive show invites young witches and wizards to take part in the fun. Performances will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Southworth Library and 4 p.m. at the North Branch Library. The show is free and no registration is required.
