Sow much fun: Open Farm Day on the horizon

Have a farm-tastic day at Round The Bend’s Open Farm Day.
Open Farm Day will be on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at 92 Allens Neck Road.
There will be a free farm tour offered at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Participants can grab lunch or stock up on paste tomatoes. All produce is grown using organic practices and without synthetic chemicals.
Marcelle Gauvin and Paula Lazaroff will host Sound Healing in the farm’s yurt. This will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Maddie Kay will host a pasta-making workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All ages are welcome. Participants will learn how to make fresh tagliatelle pasta. This is a pay what you can workshop and an RSVP is recommended.
Fresh from the fields the farm will have a limited amount of stray salad greens, zucchini, summer squash and cucumbers, along with jalapeňos and parsley.
For children, there will be a Wildflower Scavenger Hunt and Wildflowers & Water Play from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., alongside a Wildflowers-themed story and game.
Lunch options include grass-fed burgers, vegan black bean burgers and bratwurst, all served with homemade buns and a variety of fixings, plus garlic-parsley smashed potatoes. It is strongly suggested that participants pre-order lunch, as the farm often sells out. Participants can pre-order their lunch on the farms website.
Space is limited and there are a few spots left. Tickets are sold on the farm’s website and all proceeds go directly to the farm.
