Boy’s varsity soccer aims to 'click on all cylinders'

The Dartmouth high school boys varsity soccer team has won five games, lost five games and tied one game so far this season.
On Thursday, Oct. 9 they faced off against Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School, but lost 3-2.
In the last 10 minutes, the teams were tied and the crowd was yelling and cheering on their teams. Bridgewater-Raynham scored a goal in the last five minutes that won them the game.
Dartmouth reporter Kat Sheridan went to the game and talked to the coach, Joshua Silva, about this year’s season.
Q: How did the game go today?
A: Obviously not the result we wanted. Full transparency, we really haven’t been playing that well. I thought today we’d play a little bit better, we had opportunities we just didn’t capitalize on, [the opposing team] was able to capitalize on their chances.
Q: How has the season been going?
A:It’s been an okay season so far, we’ve kind of got hit with the injury bug so we’re definitely not clicking on all cylinders. But hopefully we can have a little break and recoup and hit the final stretch, get some games together.
Q: What has your biggest challenge been this season?
A: Just consistency. I think there’s a couple games I can say we’ve fully been locked in the entire game. Just that mental focus, those lapses come back to bite us this season. Good news is it’s stuff that's fixable.
Q: What are the steps going forward?
A: Just got to train well, hopefully we can recover from some of our injuries and focus on one game at a time.
The team will be facing off against Barnstable High school on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Barnstable. .
