Can't even be the tiniest bit sour at this sourdough microbakery
Tucked away on Russells Mills Road is a microbakery -- not one that sells tiny food, but one that's set-up on someone's porch
Amanda Alcaidinho started her microbakery, called Divine Dough, from her porch, after falling down a TikTok rabbit hole about sourdough. She started to make sourdough bread, and discovered she loved it.
“It’s become an anxiety reliever for me, a stress reliever, and it kind of just blew up,” said Alcaidinho.
Her family and friends loved her baked goods, so she decided to try opening a microbakery so others in the community could enjoy the goodies too.
She became fully licensed in March 2025 and opened the following May. Since then, she’s been selling her loaves on weekends.
“I have a lot of regulars, the porch stand is usually extremely busy,” said Alcaidinho.
She sells a variety of goods, like cinnamon rolls and cookies, but her specialty is her sourdough flights.
“My favorite thing to make is the bread,” said Alcaidinho. “The rest of it is a little bit more time consuming, and requires me a little bit more.”
Her flights are four miniature loaves of sourdough, each with a different flavor. These could be savory or sweet, such as french onion, strawberry white chocolate, herb and cheese, triple chocolate and jalapeno cheddar.
She makes the loaves in her home, which takes a couple of days. She has to make the dough, proof it, shape the loaves and bake them.
Divine Dough is a family run business, with her children acting as the taste testers. Alcaidinho said the cookies are their favorite thing to taste.
She originally planned to be a monthly pop-up, but eventually expanded due to demand. She says she typically sells out soon after opening.
“The support that I’ve gotten from the community in Dartmouth has been amazing,” she said. “It has exceeded expectations entirely.”
The porch is not the only place she sells her baked goods, but at artisan fairs around Fairhaven and at pop-ups at her store, 3GenLove Bookstore in New Bedford as well.
Her stand opens at 8 a.m. most Saturdays at 322 Russells Mills Road. She posts her schedule and menu on her Facebook page each week.
“It became something larger than I thought it was going to be,” Alcaidinho said.
