"Come Back in Time" Celebration, September 9

The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will be holding a "Come Back in Time" celebration to  showcase the heritage of Dartmouth on Saturday, September 9th from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the society's 1205 Russells Mills Road headquarters.

The celebration is being held in conjunction with the Dartmouth Grange Community Fair.

There will be a variety of educational family fun activities, such as learning how to do laundry using a wash tub, scrub board, wringer, and clothes line, as well as learning about coins and paper money from 1871-1914.

Spinners with Soule will be conducting a presentation on the art of spinning on an old fashioned spin wheel and 10 year old Gabriel Zuber will be cooking on a cast iron range.

There will also be a basket making class taught by Marian Ryall and a class on the construction of Victorian hats taught by Stacy Ryall, as well as a demonstration on surveyors tools from the 18th-20th centuries.

The "Come Back in Time" celebration will be a family fun way to educate people of all ages about the heritage of Dartmouth, as well as the tools and lifestyles of the 18th-20th centuries.
