Dartmouth Community Television wins national award
Dartmouth Community Media recently was awarded a national award for their dedication and excellence in community media.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this national recognition and proud to showcase the outstanding work being done in our community,” said Peter Chasse, the Director of Media for the town, “This award puts Dartmouth on the national map for excellence in community access television.”
DCTV was awarded the national 2026 Hometown Media Award, and won first place for Overall Excellence in PEG Access Programming in their budget category.
The Overall Excellence award from the Alliance for Community Media honors programs that achieve excellence in public, educational and government access.
This award is for all of the employees of DCTV, including live coverage and other forms of local programming.
“We are very fortunate to have a dedicated group of full-time and part-time staff that works every day to produce high-quality programming that keeps the residents of Dartmouth both informed and entertained,” Chasse said.
Nearly 1,000 entries are submitted to be considered by over 100 community media industry professionals.
This is the third year that DCTV has competed. The first national award they won was in 2025, when Daniel Medeiros won first place in the Educational Activities category for his piece “DHS Theatre Company — Grease Promo.”
