“Yard sales are a tradition that we do every year anyway, so when we found the community thing we’re like ‘Okay, even better,’” said Monica Ferreira, who held a multi-family yard sale.
“The only bad thing is we didn’t get to go to the other sales,” Debby Ferreira added.
There was a little of everything available for sale; antiques, arts and crafts, clothing, furniture, toys and more.
People who wanted to explore the sales had both a list of all the sales, with emojis coding what sort of items they sell, as well as a map.
Many yards had something unique; Ferreira’s yard has Archie, the cat mascot. Another yard had Adrian Rodriguez, age 7, selling lemonade.
Many of the sales were multi-family for a wider array of goods.
The Ferreiras’ stated that the sale was a success, with many people stopping by to shop, pet Archie and chat.
“[My favorite part is] meeting other people, hearing their story, why they like doing it,” said Monica, “It’s nice to talk to other people who have the same interests.”
