District Attorney to host domestic abuse seminar
Bristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn’s office, in conjunction with Employers Against Domestic Violence, will conduct a free seminar on the impact domestic violence has at work.
While domestic violence happens at home, its affects transfer into the workplace, and this conference aims to address strategies that businesses can take to aide survivors.
The seminar, “What Employers Need to Know: Understanding How Domestic Violence Affects Your Workplace and Your Legal Responsibilities as an Employer,” will help employers develop policies and procedures, train other managers, provide resources for employees and explain the legal mandates surrounding the issue.
The conference will be held on May 29 in the Grand Library Reading Room at UMass Dartmouth from 8 a.m. to noon. The half-day will feature talks from professionals, experts in the field and survivors of domestic abuse.
A complimentary breakfast will be served. Space is limited. Register online at www.bristolda.com or call 508-997-0711 ext. 1824.
