Fentanyl and firearms were among piles of contraband seized in a search of room 171 at the Capri Motel in Dartmouth by New Bedford Police on July 15, according to a police press release.
New Bedford Police arrested Jose Montanez, 23, of New Bedford after narcotics detectives found three handguns, numerous bullets, fentanyl and cocaine packaged for sale along with $437 in cash at the motel room, located at 741 State Road.
Montanez was charged with multiple offenses, including committing a felony while armed and career criminal act. This was a subsequent offense for drugs and
firearms.
