On the role of public media for the First Amendment

On Sunday, April 12, Torey Malatia — a veteran public media leader and journalist — will give a presentation on the role media has within the broader framework of the First Amendment.
Malatia will exmaine contemporary challenges surrounding free speech and consider how society can fulfill its democratic purpose.
This event is being hosted by the Friends of the Claire T. Carney Library and will be held in the Grand Reading Room of the Claire T. Carney Library at Umass Dartmouth, located at 285 Old Westport Road. Parking will be available in Lot 13.
The talk begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Registration is requested, and can be done by visiting the UMass Dartmouth klibrary website.
