“It was an up and down season,” said head coach Brian Jalbert, “I’m looking forward to the opportunity.”
The team won nine of their 20 games, and are starting to prepare to face off against East Longmeadow High School on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
“I feel like we started off a little a little weaker than we normally are, but I think we’ve all come together as a team and we’ll make it pretty far,” said Valerie Carreira, one of the team captains.
During their practice on Sunday, Feb. 22, they prepared for the first game of the tournament. Jalbert asked that they practice as if this is their last practice before the game, since the storm could cancel any others.
“I feel like we’ve found a good bond together,” said Kaelyn Zuber, another team captain.
Jalbert coached the team on East Longmeadow’s players and strategy, and is hoping that the two hour drive for the other team gives Dartmouth an advantage.
“I feel confident, but we need to execute because every team that made it is a good team,” said Jalbert.
The third team captain, Lily Gangi, agreed with the other captains and head coach.
“I think we have a good chance if we play well,” said Gangi.
