NEW BEDFORD — Six Dartmouth kids will be partaking in an adventure to the “place where dreams are born” and the community is welcomed to join them.
The world’s most popular symbol of everlasting youth, Peter Pan, will be soaring to new heights in ballet performances at Keith Middle School Saturday, June 7 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
See Marley Senra, Olivia Matias, Sophia Hughes, Olivia Camacho, Simone Soares and Lily Medeiros in the New Bedford Ballet’s production based on the timeless story by J.M. Barries.
The show will feature choreography by artistic director Rebecca Waskiel-Marchesseault and New Bedford Ballet instructors Charis Hall, Sadie Marchesseault and Jenna Torgeson. Choreography by James Brown will be restaged by New Bedford Ballet’s instructors.
Dancers from 5 to 18 years old, including two graduating seniors, together with charming costumes, captivating music and colorful sets, will create a storybook world of pirates, mermaids and a myriad of other Neverland characters.
Westport High School junior Nissa Inwood will capture Peter’s fearlessness and youthful playfulness as she takes the Darling children on a journey past the “second star and straight on ‘til morning”.
Lincoln School senior Sofia Gillen will portray the beloved Wendy; and New Bedford High School senior Eva Politano will dance the part of the effervescent and clever Tinkerbell.
