Undefeated Dartmouth football goes 4-0 this season
Dartmouth High School varsity football takes another win for their undefeated season.
On Friday, Sept. 26, Dartmouth took on Old Rochester Regional High School. Dartmouth took the lead early, but it wasn’t an easy fight, beating Old Rochester 33-21.
Head coach Richard White said, “I think the ORR kids are tough kids and they didn't quit. We couldn't really finish them off till the end.”
Captain Michael Hauck, a junior running back, was proud of his team staying tough.
When mistakes happened, Hauck said “We weren't getting down on each other, we were just bringing each other up.”
Hauck said they did well in scoring, but definitely left opportunities open for Old Rochester to score when playing defense.
White similarly said, “We threw the ball pretty well . . . and we had some guys make big plays with them.”
“Focus” is the mindset White wants his players taking into the rest of the season.
Looking forward, Hauck wants his team to keep up the energy. “I just want our team to go into every single game not being complacent.”
Hauck continued, “We should never go into a game thinking, ‘Oh this is going to be a walk in the park.’ We always got to bring the fight to them.”
White said playing next week “will be another good test for us and just trying to improve . . . we were a little sloppy . . .”
Dartmouth will play a home game against Apponequet High School next Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
