The South Coast Bikeway Alliance's will host a virtual workshop on Tuesday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. to share the findings of the second phase of a feasibility study to connect Fall River and New Bedford with pathways through Westport and Dartmouth.

One of the best ways to decide where a path should go is to ask — so the alliance is requesting residents and friends to give their opinions on potential routes.

Comments and suggestions will be combined with current data, mapping, drone photos, and other information to pick the best possible route for a bicycling and walking path linking Fall River to New Bedford and beyond.

The first part of the Closing the Gap Feasibility Study was commissioned in 2020, and was conducted by the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District.

Phase 2 of the study, which analyzes the first findings in conjunction with public input, cost estimates, and benefits and constraints analysis to determine routing opportunities, is being funded by a MassTrails Grant awarded to the SCBA and SRPEDD.

Register in advance for the virtual workshop at qrco.de/bbzUbY.  For more information on the considered bike routes, visit srpedd.org/transportation/bicycle-and-pedestrian-networks/scba-feasibility-study/.
