What to do with pumpkins and cornstalks
Now that Halloween is over, what happens to all the pumpkins and cornstalks that made the season spooky? Dartmouth Town Hall has plans to help residents dispose of them.
There are three options for disposal methods.
Customers of the Save Money and Reduce Trash (SMART) program can place pumpkins and corn stalks out with their yard waste for Fridays Nov. 7 and 21 and Dec. 5.
SMART members can bring them for free, and all other residents who aren’t SMART members can obtain a day pass for $10 to bring items to the Water Pollution Control Facility. Pumpkins and corn stalks can also be composted. Crapo Hill Landfill will be selling composters.
For yard waste or bringing the items to the control facility, call Public Works at 508-999-0740. For composting, recycling or waste reduction information, email marissa@gnbrrmdistrict.org or call 508-979-1493.
