Jose De Melo, 88, of Dartmouth, passed away on September 20, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of the late Deolinda (Rodrigues) De Melo and the son of the late Maria (Rodrigues) and Manuel De Melo.

Jose was born in St. Michael, Azores and had worked as a self-employed finish carpenter for many years.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Viera of Fairhaven, Michael Mello and his wife, Carol of Acushnet, Edward De Melo of Florida and Melanie Feltner and her husband, Tony of Florida; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joao De Melo, Gloria Pimentel, Evelina Pavao, Mariana Rodriguez, also the late Manuel Melo and the late Otilia Andrade; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Rural Cemetery.
