DNRT seeks public comments for accreditation
Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust is seeking public comments to support an application for accreditation renewal through the national Land Trust Accreditation Program.
The program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural sites.
Accredited organizations receive a variety of benefits including insurance credits and discounts as well as funding incentives.
DNRT was first accredited in 2014, joining only 280 other land trusts - out of nearly 1,700 nationwide - that had been awarded accreditation through that year.
The accreditation process includes an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
A public comment period regarding DNRT’s application is open through June 30.
The commission accepts signed, written comments relating to DNRT’s compliance with national standards that address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.
