Air-conditioned facilities for cooling off in extreme heat watch
With high temperatures expected over the next several days, community members are welcome to visit the Town of Dartmouth's air-conditioned facilties to cool down during regular business hours.
Council on Aging, 628 Dartmouth Street
The Council on Aging is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 30, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 1 and 2.
Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street
The Southworth library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 30 through July 2.
North Branch Library, 211 Cross Road
The North Branch Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 1 and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 2.
These cooling locations will currently be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 due to the holiday.
Residents should also remember to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, wear lightweight clothes and check in on people who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
