Carl Andersen, 44
Carl Andersen, 44, formerly of Dartmouth died unexpectedly on Sept 4, 2025, at his home in Fairbanks Alaska.
He attended Dartmouth schools and graduated from Dartmouth High. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 74.
After graduating from Boston University with major in astronomy and physics, he moved to Alaska for graduate studies at University of Alaska Fairbanks where he was teaching physics and participating in research at the time of his death.
He had a wide variety of interests including playing guitar in a blue grass band, cooking, camping, kayaking, fishing, and playing on a curling team.
He is remembered as being kind, thoughtful and willing to help others and with a keen wit.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Andersen and his brothers Erik Andersen and his wife Nicole of New York City and Marshall Andersen and his wife Jenna of Philomath, Oregon plus two nephews Oren and Otto. He is also missed by many dear friends. His father Victor died Oct 15, 2025.
A joint memorial service will be held Jan 31st at 11:00 at Dartmouth Grange 1133 Fisher Rd.
