Dartmouth teen dies in car crash on Nov. 1
Fifteen-year-old Anne Caroline de Carvalho of Dartmouth was one of the two teenagers who died in a car crash that occurred on Route 140 on Saturday, Nov. 1.
In her obituary, her family describes her as a “... kind, polite, loyal to her friends, and always willing to help anyone in need. With her gentle and sweet personality, she made her way into everyone’s hearts.”
She died in the hospital from injuries after being ejected from the car. De Carvalho was one of two passengers in the vehicle who died.
The 18-year-old driver, also from Dartmouth, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The other passenger, a 17-year-old from South Yarmouth, died on the scene.
De Carvalho was from Brazil, and was a student at Dartmouth High School.
“It really was something that I would say had a huge impact on the school community,” said Superintendent June Saba-Maguire. “And by all accounts our student de Carvalho was a dedicated learner. She was very well-liked. She was deeply respected by both her classmates and her teachers.”
Her family adds in the obituary that she was a “....studious, responsible, and dedicated girl. She loved to learn, had big dreams, and a determination that inspired everyone around her.”
