Graduated senior receives scholarship from Southcoast Health Ambassadors
Dartmouth High School graduated senior Sophia Duphily is one of 31 students who received a scholarship from the Southcoast Health Ambassadors.
This year $46,500 was awarded, with each student receiving $1,500 toward their college education.
Each student demonstarted outstanding academic achievement and a strong commitment to pursuing careers in the medical field.
Duphily was awarded the Anthony J. Kucikas II Scholarship and plans to attend UMass Dartmouth and major in nursing.
The scholarships are made possible through a collaborative effort supported by individual donors and the Ambassadors. Each donor provides $1,000 in funding, supplemented by a $500 contribution from the Ambassadors.
Candidates were evaluated bassed on a variety of criteria, including cumulative GPA, awards and achievements, written essays, letters of recommendation and professional or volunteer experience.
