Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day scheduled for Aug. 29
Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Crapo Hill Landfill, located at 300 Samuel Barnet Boulevard.
Hosted by the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District, this free event is open to Dartmouth residents with proof of residency.
Registration for this event is required, and residents can sign up for a timeslot by visiting gnbrrmdistrict.org or calling 508-979-1493. Participants should plan to arrive as close to their scheduled time as possible. Those who are unable to keep their appointment can canel through SignUpGenius or by calling 508-979-1493.
Examples of accepted waste include oil-based paints, paint thinner, pesticides, household cleaners and old gasoline. For a detailed list, visit https://gnbrrmdistrict.org/hazardous-waste/.
Items that won't be accepted include latex paint and items that a transfer station or recycling center can accept. This includes antifreeze, flourescent light bulbs, mercury-containing devices, motor oil, propane, TVs and computer monitors.
Participants must enter through the New Bedford Business Park.
