The Town of Dartmouth, Department of Public Works, is soliciting bids for
DARTMOUTH SLUDGE CAKE TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL
Sealed bids will be received by the Department of Public Works, 759 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA, 02748, during business hours, until the date and time of the bid opening.
BID OPENING
Bids will be opened September 24, 2026, at
10:30 A.M. Prevailing Time
Contract Documents, including the Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Specifications, and other Contract Documents, may be obtained and/or examined on or after September 8, 2026, at the Department of Public Works, 759 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA, 02748, Monday - Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Bid documents are also available electronically; please contact Rosa Tavares at rtavares@dartmouthma.gov
Attention is called to the fact that supplies furnished as part of this Contract are exempt from the Sales and Use Tax. All bids submitted should take this factor into consideration and be calculated accordingly.
The contract will be awarded within thirty (30) days after the bid opening. The time for the award may be extended by mutual agreement between the Town and the awarded bidder.
No Bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of thirty (30) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The Bidder must furnish a Non-Collusion Form and Statement of Taxes with their bid.
Proposals must include ALL DOCUMENTS required by the Invitation for Bid. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informality, reject any or all proposals, or accept other than the lowest priced proposal

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Please be advised that a Public Hearing will be held virtually on September 24, 2026 at 7:30 a.m. via the Department of Public Works Board Meeting. This hearing conforms M.G.L. Chapter 87 Section 3 (Public Shade Trees).
The subject of this hearing is the removal of three public shade trees along 25 School Street Map 118 Lot 7 in Dartmouth.
Eastern Red Cedar (1) – 8.2 inches in diameter
Eastern Red Cedar (1) – 18 inches in diameter
White Ash (1) – 29 inches in diameter

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that an application has been received from Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc., located at 15 State Road, Dartmouth, Massachusetts, for an Alteration of Premises under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 138.
The applicant is requesting a full relocation of the alcohol department within the existing 66,752-square-foot supermarket, as well as an expansion of the alcohol department from 2,227 square feet to 2,513 square feet. The Manager of Record is Jason Perry.
Those interested in providing comments, either oral and/or written, may do so by attending the public hearing to be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in Room 304 of Dartmouth Town Hall, 400 Slocum Road, Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
