May Open Farm Day

Round the Bend Farm’s Open Farm Day will be held on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The farm-fresh lunch will include burgers (both grass-fed beef and black bean vegan), beef shank bulgogi, asparagus or farro salad with cinnamon maple balsamic and a parsnip walnut cake.

The fifth Annual Adventure Walk will be happening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the Open Farm Day. There will be 10 challenges during the walk such as tryi g to start a fire with one match and using a sling shot to launch acorns. The walk will be one mile long.

There will be a talk, “Planning for a Green Burial” from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eileen Hoarle-Reuter from Green Burial Massachusetts will go over the history of burial practices, the difference between a conventional and green burial and the questions that come up with the idea of green burials. 

There will be the usual table of free items such as clothes and books. Farm tours will happen at 10:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
