Shellfishing season is close to beginning

Shell yes! Shellfishing season is starting on Wednesday, April 1.

To purchase a shellfishing permit, visit the Select Board office starting April 1 and anytime afterwards. 

The permit costs $25 for residents, $75 for non-residents and $225 for commercial shellfishing. It is free for veterans and senior residents. It is $10 for scallop, eel and seaworm permits.
