Two UMass athletes stabbed, one dead
Two UMass Dartmouth students were stabbed in Providence early on Saturday, Sept. 19.
According to WJAR, who talked to the Providence police, the alleged suspect is UMass student Chukuwnonso Uzome-Eze.
The two victims were 18-year-old Marvins Antoine of Boston and 19-year-old Kensley Macean of Dighton. Antoine died in the hospital after being stabbed. Macean sustained non-life threatening injuries.
According to WPRI, members of the football team were at the Mezzo Lounge in Providence when a fight allegedly broke out with a woman, which moved to the parking lot where the murder happened. Eze left the scene in a car
Uzome-Eze has been charged with murder.
The chancellor of UMass Dartmouth, Mark Fuller, stated in an email to students "We have no reason to believe there is any ongoing threat to the UMass Dartmouth community."
