Victor Andersen, 78
Victor Andersen, 78 of Dartmouth passed away on Oct. 15, 2025, from complications of Parkinsons Disease.
He grew up in Putnam Valley NY and graduated from Peekskill High School and Boston University where he met his wife, Joyce.
He worked for over 40 years at Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport as an engineer designing electronic equipment for submarines.
His interests included restoring antique radios and old electronic equipment plus fixing cars, playing guitar, camping, swimming the length of Round Hill Beach, and walking DNRT trails. Most of all, he enjoyed being a father, spending time "goofing off” with his three sons, participating in their activities and bragging about their accomplishments as they grew.
After retirement, he and Joyce did a great deal of traveling and camping in their econoline van including a two-month trip cross country. He was kind, generous and patient with a good sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his son Carl who died Sept 4, 2025. Survivors include his wife Joyce, sons Erik Andersen and his wife Nicole of New York City, Marshall Andersen and his wife Jenna of Philomath, Oregon plus grandsons Oren and Otto.
A joint memorial service for Vic and his son Carl will be held Jan 31st at 11:00 at Dartmouth Grange 1133 Fisher Rd Dartmouth.
