Around 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 a Hyundai Sedan caught fire on State Road near the Dartmouth Towne Center, and the cause is currently unknown.
According to Fire District 3 Chief Richard Arruda, the driver heard a “bang” and noticed the engine smoke starting to “pour out,” and pulled into Dartmouth Towne Center near Barnes & Noble.
When the fire department arrived three minutes after the call, the engine compartment was fully engulfed in flames.
“Fire was under control rather shortly,” said Arruda, “And then upon investigation, unable to determine what started the fire.”
The driver, a man from Attleboro, was unharmed.
