23-year-old injured while texting and driving

A 23-year-old Dartmouth woman faces minor injuries in a single car car crash that occurred on Wednesday, April 22 shortly after 10 p.m.

The 23-year-old reportedly struck a utility pole near the Caddy Shack and flipped over. She was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. During the rollover, the car rolled into the westbound lane. 

Investigators confirmed she was texting while driving at the time of the crash, and was issued a citation for improper use of a mobile device and a marked lane violation. 

Eversource responded to the scene as well to repair the utility pole.
