Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride to feature 20-mile route for anniversary

On Sunday, October 4, the Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride will feature a 20-mile ride in honor of the event's 20th anniversary.

The new route will begin at the Bourne Intermeditate School on Trowbridge Road and is designed to be easier and open the event up to riders of varying levels.

The ride will wind through farmland, villages, cityscapes, cranberry bogs and coastal country backroads, ending in Wood Hole overlooking Buzzards Bay. Raised funds go to the Buzzard Bay Coalition's work to protect and restore nature in Buzzards Bay.

Also new this year will be a number of stops featuring musical surprises and a finish line party.

Registration is now open and can be done at www.savebuzzardsbay.org/ride. The registration fee is $65 with an additional $300 fundraising minimum. The registration fee will increase to $75 on Aug. 1.

This ride is a fully supported event with rest stops and lunch, mechanical support along the route, a SAG wagon, optional pre- or post-event shuttle service and a finish line celebration.
