Picture this: ArtWeek returns to Dartmouth
ArtWeek SouthCoast is set to return on Friday, May 8 and will feature several Dartmouth events.
The 10-day event celebrates creativity across the South Coast and includes hands-on workshops, live performances, open studios, exhibitions and family-friendly activities.
This year, six events will be taking place in Dartmouth.
Schwartz in the City Art Show
Students from Meeting Street - The Schwartz School will be showing off their artwork on Thursday, May 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The artwork will be on display at Meeting Street - The Schwartz School, located at 1 Posa Place. In addition to viewing students' artwork, there will also be entertainment, refreshments and activities. To attend, RSVP to mgodfrey@meetingstreet.org by Wednesday, May 6.
UMass Dartmouth 2026 MFA Thesis Exhibition
Graduating Master of Fine Arts students at UMass Dartmouth are currently showing off their artwork at the Art and Design Studios located in the Dartmouth Towne Center Plaza. The artwork on display includes paintings, drawing, ceramics, digital media and site-specific installation.
The exhibit will be open from now until Saturday, May 9 daily from 9 a. m. to 6 p.m. The Art and Design Studios is located at 458 State Road.
Westport Writers Group
The Westport Writers Group will be meeting at the North Branch Library on Saturday, May 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, writers will write for an hour and then share with each other what they wrote. South Coast Anthology Reading
On Saturday, May 16 authors will be visiting the North Branch Library to read from two anthologies featuring stories that take place across the South Coast. This event begins are 2 p.m. at the North Branch Library, located at 211 Cross Road.
Dartmouth Cultural Center exhibit
Susan Medyn and David Formanek's wax artwork will be on display throughout ArtWeek for visitors. The gallery will be open Thursday through Ssturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Cultural Center is located at 404 Elm Street in Padanaram.
Creative Kids Art Workshop
Gallery H will be hosting a workshop for kids.
