“Coming to this game, my coach says it’s a legacy game and we knew we had something special in our hands and we came in and executed and we got our result,” said captain Landon Raposa, who made two of the goals. “[Making it to the final four] it’s what you dream for.”
“I love this team and would take them against anyone,” said coach Joshua Silva.
The crowd was just as excited, screaming and chanting, cheering when the team scored or booing when the other team got the ball. Some common chants were “Let’s go Dartmouth!” and “Let’s go green!”
The stands were completely packed, with students holding pictures of their friend’s faces and everyone decked out in Dartmouth merch. Some in the crowd were even shirtless and painted green to support Dartmouth.
“I’ve been friends with these kids for so long and it’s awesome to see them playing together, working so hard and putting in the work, it’s showing off,” said Owen Shurtleff, one of the students painted green. “I’m really hoping I can see them go all the way.”
Silva feels that part of the reason they won is that they matched well against Sharon, and the team executed their game plan well. To get ready to face off against Duxbury, they will be watching film and practicing.
“We’re going to practice hard like we’ve done all season and play how we do,” said Raposa.
The team will be playing against Duxbury High School on Monday, Nov. 17 at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood.
