Dartmouth soccer team beats Durfee High School
Dartmouth High School beat Durfee High School 1-0 on Thursday, Oct. 1. This makes their win streak five wins, one loss and one tie.
The score was 0-0 for the first half of the game, until Dartmouth got a penalty kick in the second half. Durfee got a penalty kick in the last few minutes of the game, but goalie Logan Pedro blocked the kick.
Head coach Josh Silva felt that the team wasn’t “sharp at all” during the game.
“We’re still growing as a team,” said Silva, “We’ve got a lot of ways to go, in terms of if we want to get back to where we were last year.”
Last year, the team was mostly upperclassmen. This year, Silva stated there’s more of a blend of upperclassmen and lowerclassmen that requires the team working together to continue “getting the kinks out.”
The crowd was enthusiastic, yelling that it was a “Good try” each time there was a near-miss goal and cheering on Pedro for blocking Durfee’s attempts.
